NCRCC Neptunes

Coach Mitter is excited to be returning to the Neptunes this summer as Head Coach. He has been active in the Dayton-area swim community for over 14 years—as a YMCA/USA official, assistant high school coach, and currently as the Head Coach of the Fairmont High School Swim and Dive Team. In 2025, he was named Greater Western Ohio Conference Coach of the Year for Girls Swimming and earned the same honor this year for Boys Swimming as well. Coach Mitter believes that whether he is coaching state qualifiers or brand-new swimmers, every swimmer can have fun and improve. He has been a teacher at Fairmont High School for 28 years and currently serves as head of the math department. He and his wife Lisa live in Kettering with their daughters Rachel, a sophomore at Centre College and Kate (18), and their yellow lab, Bruno.

Izzy Altick is currently a freshman at The Ohio State University majoring in chemical engineering. She is excited to join the Neptunes coaching staff this summer, as swimming has always been a big part of her life. Izzy began swimming at age four with the OakCreek summer swim team and was thrilled to later discover that Fairmont also had a swim team. She joined the Fairmont program as a freshman and competed on the varsity team for all four years of high school. Izzy is honored to step into the role of coach, knowing firsthand how much a great coach can influence a swimmer’s experience and love for the sport. She is grateful for the coaches who helped shape her time at Fairmont and for the confidence she gained during those four years. Izzy hopes to pass that same confidence, encouragement, and passion for swimming on to the swimmers she will be coaching.

I’m Nina Pellegrino and I am so excited for my second year of coaching the NCR neptunes swim team! I will be a senior at Fairmont high school this year and have swam for two years on Fairmont’s swim team along with running track and playing field hockey. I can’t wait for this summer, I know it will be even better than last year! 

Hank is an accomplished swimmer and former coach of the Marinole Marlins who is so excited to coach the Neptunes this summer. He is a junior at Alter High School here in Kettering and participates in the swim and dive as well as lacrosse team for Alter. Hank also swims for the local club, the Dayton Raiders, where he competes nationally in some of his favorite events. He is happy to help the Neptunes compete, improve, and have fun all summer long! 

Kate Mitter is thrilled to be joining the Neptunes coaching staff this year! A graduating senior at Fairmont High School, Kate received 9 varsity letters in cross country, track, and swimming. She can’t wait to continue her swimming journey as a coach this summer. She plans to attend Colgate University this fall, majoring in political science on the pre-law track. Kate is excited to help athletes grow and improve, and looks forward to helping swimmers of all levels have fun in the water!
